Boating/Jetskiing/WaterskiingLake LaMoure, five miles south of LaMoure, offers a variety of fun in the sun activities, including boating, jetskiing, and waterskiing. You need to bring your own toys though.

CanoeingLake LaMoure has some beautiful, secluded canoeing areas. A popular canoe run has been the James River, starting in Grand Rapids and canoeing down to the James River Damsite in LaMoure. You need to bring your own canoe though, as we don't have rentals. Fort Ransom State Park offers canoeing within the park and also has rentals available.
Cross-Country Skiing/Down-Hill SkiingThe area surrounding Lake LaMoure is beautiful for cross-country skiing in the winter months. For down-hill skiing, Bears Den Mountain right outside Fort Ransom has a wonderful ski area for all ages.
FishingFishing is top notch at Lake LaMoure and the James River Damsite. Walleye, Northern and Perch are the favorites from these locations. More information is available at www.state.nd.us/gnf/fishing

Horseback RidingHorseback riding is popular enjoyment in our area. Load up your horses and come on over to enjoy our scenery by horseback. Fort Ransom State Park also has trails for horseback riding enjoyment.
Hunting/TrappingWildlife is abundant in the area, with hunting and trapping available for such things as moose, deer, wild turkey, and other small game and furbearers.
