August 2025 Minutes

The LaMoure City Council met on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 5:30 pm in the City Council Room at the City Office.  Present were Clint Hoggarth, Jen LeBlanc, Stuart Good, Trigg Baker, Lori Gentzkow, Dominic Hanson, Heath Schaffer, Art Hagebock, Bob Flath, Brandon Reber, Josh, Kim Radermacher via conference call.

The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Minutes: Pedersen moved to approve as presented, Gentzkow second.  Polled vote, all yes.

Financials: Baker moved to approve presented financials, Good second.  Polled vote, all yes

Bills: Gentzkow to approve presented bills and LeBlanc second.  Polled vote, all yes.

Preliminary Budget: Gentzkow moved to approved the presented preliminary budget, Pedersen second.  Polled vote: all yes.  Budget Hearing will be held at 5:30 on September 8, 2025.

 

Legal Report:

-Golf Cart Ordinance –Baker moved to accept the second reading of the ordinance as presented, Gentzkow second.  Polled vote: all yes.

-Resolution for public comment: second reading accept as presented by Pedersen, Baker second.  Polled vote: all yes.  Will add to agenda for next meeting.

 

Engineers Report: Brandon stated that the new tank is online and the old tower is down.

 

Public Works:

The committee met and recommended that we have a credit at Bobcat and have been looking at getting a larger commercial lawnmower. The cost would $13500, and credit is about $12000.  This would cut their mowing time by about half.  Pedersen moved to purchase the lawn mower after trying it, public works and the committee agree to the purchase. Gentzkow second on the motion.  Polled vote: all yes.

 

Mosquito spraying: The cost to due aerial spraying would be $3650 per application for chemical and application from Robert Air Ag.  Pedersen moved to approve to have aerial spraying done upon proper permits being obtained.  Good second. Polled vote: all yes.

 

Police:  15 calls for service.  Ordered new PC, needed to be updated due to software expriring. $2055.00 total cost.  Hanson thanked the Dickinson Police Department for inviting him to the Police officers conference in Dickinson this next week and for allowing us to try out some language translation earbuds.

 

Permits: Daugherty:  deck was denied based on not having the required setback.

Meisch: Gentzkow moved to approve, Baker second.  Polled vote: all yes.  Motion carried.

Friedt: Baker moved to approve but cannot be galvanized. Pedersen second.  Polled vote: all yes.  Motion carried.

 

Congratulations to the LaMoure Babe Ruth and Legion teams in their state tournament appearances and to the entire LaMoure Baseball program for another great state tournament.
