The LaMoure City Council met on Monday, December 11, 2023, at 5:30 pm. Present were Clint Hoggarth, Lori Gentzkow, Greg Pedersen, Stuart Good, Brad Nogosek, Trigg Baker, Vince Watkins, Bob Flath, Heath Schaffer, Art Hagebock, Dominic Hanson, via conference call Kimberly Radermacher, Brandon Reber
Meeting called to order at 5:30 pm
Minutes: Gentzkow moved to approve, Nogosek second. all yes
Financial statement: Pedersen moved to approve, Baker second Polled vote: all yes
Bills: Gentzkow moved to approve, Pedersen second. Polled vote: all yes
Visitors: Bob Flath – Property that is returned to county from lack of tax payment. There are multiple properties in LaMoure that did not sell. The city can take the taxes off and approach the county commission about them also removing them, then we can take ownership of that property for an agreed upon price.
Legal Report: Second reading of the sales tax ordinance, LaMoure Park District wording. Gentzkow motion to approve, Pedersen second. Polled vote: all yes.
Engineer Report: Lead line survey- the state has contracted Moore Engineering to do the survey. Have the survey that needs to be done.
Committee: Watkins moved to utilize the Back the Blue Grant as a retention bonus and to pay out the funds to Chief Hanson. Pedersen seconded the motion. Polled vote: all yes. Motion carried.
An update was given on the trash conversion process.
Police Report: 10 calls for service.
Permits: The Lazy Pair and The Other Bar for liquor licenses for 1/1/24-6/30/24. Gentzkow moved to approve the licenses, Good second. Polled vote: all yes. Motion passed.
LaMoure Youth Baseball: building permit – grandstand and scoreboard replacement: Nogosek moved to approve the permit, Good seconded. Polled vote: yes votes from Gentzkow, Watkins, Good, Baker and Nogosek. Pedersen abstained. Motion carried, permit approved.
