The LaMoure City Council met on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 5:30 pm in the City Council Room. Present was Mayor Willey, Council members: Greg Pedersen, Steve Sandness, Brad Nogosek and Vince Watkins. Also present: Heath Schaffer, Art Hagebock, Dominic Hanson and Gina Haugen. Attending via conference call Council member Clint Hoggarth, Kim Radermacher and Brandon Reber.
Mayor called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm.
Pedersen moved to approve the December meeting minutes. Watkins second. Polled vote: all yes. Nogosek moved to approve the Financial Statement, Pedersen second. Polled vote: all yes. Hoggarth moved to approve the months bills. Sandness second. Polled vote: all yes.
Engineer Report: The engineers are still working with the contractor on a fix for the water tower. They continue to accrue liquidated damages at a rate of $2500.00 per day.
Committees: Employee wage increases were discussed. The city policy is a 4% increase annually. Watkins move to approve the 4% increases, Pedersen second. Polled vote: all yes.
Public Work Department: The fire hydrant at the school has been hit several times and may need to be moved. Superintendent Schaffer asked for a meeting with the Street Committee, it will be scheduled. The Mayor commended the street crew on snow removal during this difficult weather time.
New Business: Pedersen moved to approve Bank North, The LaMoure Credit Union and Choice Bank as approved depositories for the city. Sandness second. Polled vote: all yes.
Permits: Happy Seniors – bingo and raffle permit- Sandness moved to approve, Watkins second. Polled vote: all yes.
Police – 19 calls of service
