The LaMoure City Council met on January 13, 2025 at 5:30 pm.
Present were Clint Hoggarth, Greg Pedersen, Stuart Good, Jen LeBlanc, Trigg Baker, Brad Nogosek, Heath Schaffer, Art Hagebock, Bob Flath, Dominic Hanson, Kimberly Radermacher, Tony Hanson, Jessica Wagner.
Meeting was called to order 5:30
The pledge was recited.
Tony Hanson & Jessica Wagner attended. Tony talked about labor shortages in our community as well as others and the need to do something to try to get people to come to town and fill open positions. They are starting to look at immigrants to come to town and take some of these open positions. We already have South Africans that come and work but cannot bring their family and partners to work but our communities need them as well. Benedictine is working to bring families and is starting to have some success with it. Issues identified housing, communication, culture changes. How do we address this?
Minutes: Pedersen moved to approve the minutes presented. Gentzkow second. Polled vote, all yes.
Financial: Gentzkow moved to approve the financial report. Pedersen second. Polled vote, all yes.
Bills: Baker moved to approve the presented bill. Gentzkow second. Polled vote, all yes.
Legal Matters: Lease with Titan Machinery on the repeater tower is completed. Pedersen moved. Baker second. Polled vote: all yes.
Old Business:
-Container ordinance: discussion: who will do the inspections? First reading: Nogosek moved, Good second. Second reading will be held.
Police update: vehicle is not ready yet, should be soon. 14 calls for service. Abandoned cars, and need to meet with the committee on defining and providing guidance with zoning restrict to that would be a business that those vehicles would be appropriate for the business.
