July 2023 Minutes

The LaMoure City Council met on Monday, July 10, 2023 at 5:30 pm at the City Council Room.  Present were Clint Hoggarth, Lori Gentzkow, Vince Watkins,  Stuart Good,  Also Michael Dahlen, Bob Flath, Ron Paul, Art Hagebock, and Dominic Hanson and Gina Haugen.  Via conference call Kim Radermacher

The meeting was called to order at 5:30 pm.

Clint read a letter of resignation from Councilperson Steve Sandness.  Will advertise for interested candidates.

Minutes: Gentzkow moved to approve.  Watkins second.  Polled vote: all yes                                                                                                                                                                   Financials:    Watkins moved to approve with the removal of 308 water tower charge. Gentzkow second.  Polled vote: all yes.

Bills:  Nogosek moved to approve.  Gentzkow second.   Polled vote: all yes

 

Visitors:  Mike Dahlen  – appeared asking council to change ordinance to allow 6 chickens, no roosters, per household with a fee.  Radermacher will research the issue and bring additional information to the next meeting.  Dahlen left at this time.

Legal Matters:  Contract for the removal of buildings, Good moved to accept the contract for the removal of the center avenue buildings,  Gentzkow second.  Polled vote: all yes.  Motion carried.

Public Works Department:  Received 2023 Snow Removal Grant of $21,823.43.  Follow-up with speed bumps.

Police department:  assisting Jamestown with a stolen motor vehicle in LaMoure. Has received a gift of a pepper gun contingent that he gets instructor certified to use it.  The certification runs $500 and is in Crookston, MN, and it provides an additional non-lethal tool to use.

Permits:

The Other Bar – liquor license, Watkins move to approve, Good second.  Polled vote: all yes.

LaMoure County – new building – Gentzkow moved to approve, Good second.  Polled vote: all yes.

Bob Flath – shed –  Gentzkow moved to approve, Good second.  Polled vote: all yes.

Other:  It was discussed to plant a tree in memory of Del Kindlespire, Ron will ask Deb for recommendations.
